Having friends and family over is one of my favorite things and when I can add a bit of my personality and style into my entertaining I love it even more.

I invite you to join me for this fun and easy tablescape mini course. I wanted to create something that would allow you to dress up your holiday table but also make it easy to go from Thanksgiving to Christmas and beyond.

Entertaining doesn’t have to be stressful and it is actually a lot of fun if we can take the pressure off of ourselves and create warm and inviting spaces for our friends and family. Making things look pretty is a lot of fun but making your guests feel loved and special is the best part.

How To Create Inviting Outdoor Spaces This Fall

What is not to love about a holiday all about family, friends, good food and just being together!?

If you live where it is warm enough to still entertain outside I highly recommend it this Thanksgiving.

Being outside is unexpected for dinner parties and it really brings new energy into your gatherings.

I wanted to share how to bring our own fall tablescape together by using as an example of a tablescape I designed last fall in our last home.

1.Before I put the table together I thought about how could I make our table a little different this time, make use of our space (yard), incorporate colors of the season and use decor I already owned.

2.My hope is that you would also “shop” your own house and incorporate the beautiful things you already own. Maybe a little foraging too:-)

3. Bring out blankets, wool pillows, napkins (they were really hand towels) for color and texture. I love creating layers in decorating (as with clothing) so this step is important to me to creating a warm and cozy table.

4. Bring out the dishes and glassware.  For this table I am just using our everyday white dishes but mixing them with our nice crystal. Mix and match your pieces and have fun with them. They are there to be USED.

5. Add height to your table.  I did this by adding the wooden candlesticks with white tapers, stacking pumpkins, putting the wine on the table, adding a wood and marble pedestal and adding simple candles on top with twine for texture.

6. Now, fill it in with all of the special touches of the season. I filled it with white hydrangeas to keep it neutral (this is very typical for me with flowers), large pinecones, leaves, branches and acorns.

7. Add sparkle. For us this was having the crystal wine glasses, silverware and especially hanging the vintage chandelier (it was not wired in and was there just for looks).

8. Light the fireplace, light the candles, turn the music on and crack a bottle of wine and you are ready to begin.

The more you do this the more you will get comfortable just shopping your own home and making little changes to your tablescape for the seasons. You will have a go to layout and just change out the dishes or flowers or seasonal filler.

Most importantly…You will never regret making your holiday about the people that join you around that table.  AND When you have fun so will the people that you love around that table.

Fall Tablescape | Into the Woods We Go

This post is sponsored by AllModern

Fall begs for gathering and I think the most beautiful and inviting spaces can be created outside.

We have been having the most fun creating cozy spaces and “rooms” throughout our land and today I am sharing our newest space for the Farmhouse Holiday Series hosted by Ella Claire.

I wish I could take you along on all of the trails that we have created off of this space and throughout all of our land but I hope that you will come to our studio soon and walk them yourselves.

We would love to gather with you in our studio, home and land.

This past weekend we hosted a live workshop in our studio and this is the space we created for all of the students for lunch.

Lighting makes any space and I am swooning over the impact the AllModern String Lights have created in our outdoor room.

I will have to show you how gorgeous they look at night very soon (probably with friends, pizza and wine)!

I love mixing modern and vintage and rustic and elegant.

Mixing styles and textures makes a setting or a room interesting and inviting.

My sister gave us the wood slices from her land and we complimented them with our wedding china and the AllModern Wine Glasses.

Want to know a trick I have been doing? I have been using other pieces from the AllModern Daphne Gold collection and using them as candle holders. I have them sprinkled around the house and on this fall tablescape. I never use scented candles on the table and this allows the candle holder to be a gorgeous container with the candle and to dress up the table.

We also will never be cold this fall in the evenings because of the bronze AllModern Outdoor Heater.

This has allowed us to have dinner and cocktails with friends in the evenings and keeps the temperature warm and cozy.

You all know how excited we are about our apple tree🙂 and we have been using the AllModern Wooden Bowls and our apples as centerpieces in the house and on the tablescape.

All of the leaves, pine cones, branches, flowers for the table were clipped and collection from our land. That is truly the gift of fall!

Bringing together the branches, china, sheepskin, gold wine glasses, wood slices, candles and the lunches in kraft boxes from our local French Pastry shop Dream Pastries was so fun to create.

Thank you for joining me for the Farmhouse Holiday Series and letting me show you my fall tablescape!

Now, you HAVE to go see what everyone else has been creating…

What is not to love about a holiday all about family, friends, good food and just being together!?

When my friend Bre of Rooms For Rent asked me to be a part of her Thanksgiving Tablescape Tour I jumped on the opportunity.

Before I put the table together I thought about how could I make our table a little different this time, make use of our space (yard), incorporate colors of the season and use decor I already owned.

My hope is that you would also “shop” your own house and incorporate the beautiful things you already own. Maybe a little foraging too:-)

You will never regret making your holiday about the people that join you around that table.

Have fun!
