Paint Splattered Gift Wrapping | Artsy and Easy

This is the final post for me with all of the incredible ladies that are a part of the Farmhouse Holiday Series!

This series has been over the past few months and it has been so much fun and I have loved sharing our new home in a more intentional way.

These ladies are all full time design and DIY bloggers and it has been such a huge honor to be included.

I would just like to thank Kristen of Ella Claire for the lavishing invitation to be a part of the series.

Today we are all sharing holiday gift wrap ideas.

This won’t come as a surprise to you but I threw some paint on mine:-)

I got the boxes, ribbons, bells and animal ornaments from Target and then with three different paintbrush sizes I splattered white craft paint onto the packages.

I think wrapping for our family is almost as much fun as finding the gift.

Whatever is easy, affordable and fun is the perfect way to wrap all of your gifts.

Include the kids because they are usually the most creative in our family with their fun artwork and homemade newspaper bows.

Have the most beautiful Christmas!

We have created a small gift below of gift tags and a poster that perfectly proclaims how my heart feels about the gift of Christ.

Please download your free tags and print and share with those you love.

Gift Giving Guide 2016

I don’t like to buy something just to buy something!

I love when I can find the perfect gift for the people I love BUT sometimes it is hard and I could use some help.

Today our creative team has put together some ideas for the girlie girl, the guy in your life and from small businesses you may want to support.

Jeanne Oliver’s Guide Guide for the Girlie Girl

I love to give gifts that I would like to receive. Give me all the books, coffee and cozy gifts! These are all items that I have and LOVE!  These are also items that I use all of the time you will know that these gifts will be well used.

Coziest handmade chunky blanket. Pure yumminess!

My go to place for handmade artisan pottery is Chris Taylor. Each piece is beautifully made and goes with everything. I love to mix and match and it is a gorgeous gift.

This shop is brand new and I just bought way too much BUT check out these marble and wood coasters! Hello!

This is the warmest and cutest hat I own.  Who doesn’t want to walk around town with a big fury ball on the top of your head? I thought so.

It you know a creative woman than this is the gift for her! Awesome book that is inspiring and encouraging.  Beautifully made and represents all of us.

Nothing makes me happier than to support another artist and this leather tote is handmade from a local artisan that mixes the finest supplies and design. Bravo!

This lotion is also from another local artisan and it is not only an excellent product but her packing puts it over the top!

When you need to take your French press up a notch! Beautiful and functional.

Jen Wagner’s Gift Guide for Guys
Having an excuse to spend money on my husband is such a fun part of the holiday season for me! But let’s be real for a second, men can be very difficult to shop for. So I love spending time looking around to find things he normally wouldn’t buy for himself, but also things that are practical that he’d love and appreciate. He loves great design, minimalism, and leather (you know, man things I guess), so I scoured the internet to find a list of a few things that he and many other men may love to receive this Christmas!
Leather Jacket from Leather & Cotton
Warm Socks from J Crew
Mixology Set from West Elm
Playing Cards from West Elm
“Work Hard” Poster from Schoolhouse Electric
Leather Watch from Instrmnt
Mobile Charging Station from Amazon
Ethically Made Leather Boots from Oliberte
Wood Peg Bike Rack from Etsy

Here’s my list of 9 great local small businesses. All of these
businesses feature either handmade gifts or are local small businesses
in Colorado.

To find your own local small businesses, just head to a craft fair,
market or artisan boutique in your area. Be prepared to spend a bit more
than you might normally spend on gifts because you know that small
businesses are making their goods with their own hands- not mass
producing them and that costs a bit more.

To shop from my favorite small businesses, just click the link and tell
them I sent you!

1. Canned Goods
Canned Goods is one of those awesome give-back companies that we all
love! They upcycle tin cans AND give 1 can of food for every piece of
jewelry sold to a homeless shelter! Win/Win/Win!

2. My Sweet Honeybee Soap
I met Cindy when we were both just getting started building our small
business dreams and I’ve not only fallen in love with her, but I LOVE
her soaps. It is all we use anymore. The smell is heavenly and of
course, it gets us clean.

3. Hygge Life
I posted about my favorite blanket in my fall finds, but I feel it bears
repeating- the Turkish blankets and towels from Hygge are to-die-for!
And did you know Hygge (pronounced Hoo-ga) describes the feeling of
finding true joy in life’s moments- big or small. The blankets are my
favorite, but I love the towels, too!

4. Mutts and Mittens
Dog Lovers Unite! Shannon makes dog collars right here in Denver,
Colorado! Why give your dog a boring old collar when he or she can be

5. Give’r
This one is (mostly) for the boys and men in your life. The guys at
Give’r think you should “give’r all you got; go for it” and the attitude
of excellence shows in their awesome product line. Their leather gloves
(which you can customize with initials!) are a high quality gift that is
built to last!

6. Voormi
This one is for my husband. He is o.b.s.s.e.d. with Voormi. He loves
anything high quality that is made in the USA and that’s Voormi in a
nutshell. These guys create and manufacture all weather gear that is
built to last. All of their wool is from the Rocky Mountain region and
all products are made in America. Get the outdoorsman in your life a
gift with meaning that will last!

7. Sword and Plough
I’m a sucker for bags and semi-regularly present my case for a new bag
for special occasions. It’s just one of my “things”. Anyway, this local
company does good on so many levels! They repurpose military surplus to
make all of their products, they employ veterans AND they give back 10%
to veteran programs. They have lots of wallets and other smaller gifts,
but also- BAGS!

Sometimes a snazzy tee shirt is the best gift. This Colorado based
company sells some radical shirts and hats for men, women and children.
If you or someone you know loves, lives or belongs in Colorado, get them
one of these shirts! I got my brother one this year in hopes that he
would finally figure out how rad Colorado is and move here.

9. Sage 8 Studio
One of my favorite gift giving traditions is a special ornament each
year for my kids. Last year I bought what is now known as the “best
ornaments ever”. Sage 8 takes slices of pine, bettlekill and other wood
and hand creates amazing ornaments. She also has gorgeous art that
combines bright colors and the beauty found in nature using wood as her

If none of these companies have what you are looking for, you can always
Shop Shabby for some awesome alpaca products.

Happy gifting! I hope you can truly enjoy the beauty of giving this
holiday season!

Registration Now Open For Our Brand New E-Course!

We are so excited to share with you our brand new e-course!

We can’t wait to share this journey with you.

When I was a little girl I would play house.

I would hang clothes on the line, pat my baby doll’s back, set a small table with care and decorate “my house”.

For as long as I can remember I wanted nothing more than to be a mom and to have a home of my own.

As a new wife I had all of these ideas of how a good wife made a home.

I had examples in magazines and on television that promoted a life that I tried so desperately to follow and accomplish.

I had the most perfect parties and the most perfect pantry.

There wasn’t a speck of dust to be found.

I must have been doing it right.  Right?

Then my babies came one after another.

It didn’t take me long to realize that the perfect home was not as important as being a good mom.

It also didn’t take too long to realize that my perfect home was making my husband miserable.

I was still a young mom and wife when I figured out that my home was not becoming all the things I truly desired.

I wanted my home to be about the people, nothing about the perfection and still about the pretty!

So all those years ago I made a choice to change how I loved our home and how better to love the people in it.

This is my journey to creating a home that reflected my heart.

This is a journey about a woman and her friends that still play house but this time it is more fun!

Join me and some of the most creative women I know for Creatively Made Home.

I chose each of these women not only because of the beautiful homes they create but how they have incorporated their truest joys in everyday life.

Each woman has a style and story all her own.

This is a five week online course that will be hosted by

Tracey Leber

Sara Duckett

Kimberly Taylor

Jennifer Rizzo

and Me …..  Jeanne Oliver

I wanted to create a course that celebrated what really matters in your home… and your family.

I also wanted to celebrate making life beautiful in the everyday.

I know that so many want to make their homes beautiful but feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start….so they do nothing.

I believe that everyone should be surrounded by beauty in their homes and that shouldn’t have to do with how much you spend.

I think sometimes we can get lost and distracted with everything that comes at us each day.

Sometimes things can look so perfect and we as women may feel inadequate.

It is time to exhale and delight in your home.

It is time to open your doors because of what is inside of you…not what is inside your home.

Our desire is that this five week online course will change how you see yourself, your home and your family.

* Each week you will have amazing truthful videos from not only the five teachers but other creative women.

* Each week we will take a room from one of YOU and all five women will give their suggestions telling you how they would transform the room with their style.

* There will be 50+ project videos.

These will be incredible videos that include everything from gardening, cooking, gift giving and decorating.

* There will be written tips from each woman telling you how she starts a room, picks paint, fabrics, etc.  You will learn where to start when putting your own home together.

* Tons of beautiful house photos from each of the five women.

* Videos that truly reflect what life is like in each of their homes.  The stuff that life is really about.  Believe me it has nothing to do with the perfect table setting.

* Each woman will share their own truthful journey about how they started making their home a reflection of their hearts.

* Each person registered will get an easy entertaining e-book to download.

It will contain go to recipes for beautiful and easy entertaining (they do go together), photos of table settings that take the stress out of having people over, favorite drinks and so much more (and their funniest entertaining story).

* There will be a private Facebook group to connect with other class members.

* There will be a once a week live discussion with one of the teachers!

* You will get printables and pdfs to keep and use again and again.

This course is about loving your home, loving your family and blessing those around you….and having fun doing it.

If you have taken my other courses you know how much I put into them.

This course will lavish you with ideas, beauty, inspiration, joy and encouragement!

Come and play house with us.

Class begins October 22.

Registration is now open!

Early registration price is $48 for the next two weeks.

After August 6 the price will go to $58

Handmade Christmas {The Littles}

Did you know that there are only six Fridays until Christmas?

Sorry to freak you out.

The truth is that we keep Christmas pretty simple around here.

We don’t break the bank around here.

We either try to buy homemade or make it ourselves.

It means more.

At least to me.

There are so many creative and brilliant small businesses that it would be a shame not to support them and let them know we value their work.

For the next six Fridays I will be sharing some Christmas gift picks all from small business and handmade artists.

Each week will be a different theme.

Today is for all of those littles in your life.

1. Colored Pencils {these would make a sweet stocking stuffer for boys or girls)

2. Fabric Reusable Wall Decals {You have to check out this whole site.  Beautiful ways to easily transform a room and your child will love them}

3. United States Chalkboard {I want this for the boy’s rooms.  Love}

4. Cloth Doll {I may order one just for myself}

5. Felt Shoes {How precious are these and so beautiful they would be handed down}
