Jeanne Oliver Studio Workshops 2017 | We Have a Few Spots Left

I love that our creative network has allowed us to teach and learn with thousands from all over the world and to gather in the most unusual and incredible way. I know we have all made friends and kindreds because of the power of the internet. I also know that meeting in person is powerful and heart changing too and it allows me to create, teach, connect and love on others in a whole different way.

When we built our studio it was my heart that a small number of times a year we would gather women on our land and into our home for beautiful food, intimate teaching, true connection and the quiet to allow hearts and heads to hear one another.

I am teaching two workshops this fall because the first one sold out so quickly that we opened a second weekend. The Wild Awakening workshop is more intimate because we need more room to create big. We have two last minute openings for the second weekend of Wild Awakening and we would love to have you join us and play all weekend!

We are also bringing Wendy Brightbill and Stephanie Lee to our studio this fall!  These are two incredibly generous and lavishing artists and teachers. Come and see if one of our workshops is right for you…

DAY 1

AMSTERDAM

Arrive in Amsterdam today, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time.

DAY 2

AMSTERDAM

Your day in Amsterdam begins with a panoramic tour of the city, on which you will see renowned landmarks like the Royal Palace and a windmill. The rest of the day is yours to explore this grand capital. (B)

DAY 3

AMSTERDAM – EMBARKATION

Check out of your hotel today and transfer to your ship. Later tonight enjoy a welcome aboard dinner. (B,D)

DAY 4

AMSTERDAM – HOORN

This morning the ship cruises the Ijsselmeer River to Hoorn, where you have a choice of three activities. The first is a visit to a family-run tulip farm, where you will learn about growing these flowers, tour greenhouses and discover over one million tulips in different colors, species and phases of growth. The second option is a walking tour of Hoorn, where you will tour De Halve Maen, a replica of the Dutch East India Company’s most famous ship and then stroll through this town’s beautiful harbor. Those that are more active may choose to join a guided bike tour through West-Friesland, where windmills, tulip fields and fruit orchards abound. (B,L,D)

DAY 5

MIDDELBURG

After cruising the Delta today, you can explore Middelburg, which boasts more than 1,000 city monuments, on a walking tour. Alternatively, you may explore the Delta Works storm surge barrier, which showcases steel doors that are 147 feet wide, an impressive series of dams and Dutch hydraulic engineering. Your last option is a guided bike tour through this historic city. (B,L,D)

DAY 6

ANTWERP, BELGIUM

This morning, you will have your choice of one of three different excursions. Your first option is a walking tour of Antwerp on which you will see Antwerp Castle, Grote Market, Brabo Fountain and the city’s superb architecture. Your other options are a visit to Rubens House, the former home of the famous Flemish Baroque painter, or guided bike tour. This afternoon, choose between a Belgian chocolates and waffles tasting or a visit to Floralia, an annual spring flower show that spans over 34 acres and features approximately one million bulbs that are hand-planted each year by the castle staff. (B,L,D)

DAY 7

GHENT

Today, you can either choose a full day excursion to Bruges, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or stay to explore Ghent. Bruges features many marvelous things to see, including Grote Market and the city’s historic center. Those that prefer Ghent will have a choice between a walking tour and chocolate tasting, with highlights like Belfry Hall, the Koornlei, the Graslei and the Castle of the Counts. (B,L,D)

DAY 8

ROTTERDAM, KINDERDIJK – SCHOONHOVEN

This morning there are three ways you can discover Rotterdam. The first takes you to see The Hague and then visit Delft, known for its canals, historic town center and being the manufacturing base for Delftware, hand-painted blue pottery. Alternatively, you may explore the Delta Works, which showcase an impressive series of dams and Dutch hydraulic engineering, or join a guided bike tour. In the afternoon, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk, a lovely village renowned for having the country’s greatest concentration of windmills, all dating from the 18th century. Tonight the ship cruises to Schoonhoven, where you will have some free time as we moor overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 9

AMSTERDAM

We arrive in Amsterdam today. Admire the spectacular display of millions of flowering tulips during your morning excursion to the world famous 70-acre Keukenhof Gardens. In the afternoon enjoy a scenic cruise through the historic harbor and canals of Amsterdam. See the beautiful homes that line the water, the fabled Skinny Bridge, and the famous house where Anne Frank spent years in hiding during World War II. You can opt instead for an excursion to delightful Zaanse Schans, a small historic village just outside of Amsterdam, or stay in Amsterdam for a walking tour of the upscale Jordaan district. The ship moors overnight in Amsterdam. (B,L,D)

It is worth a trip to France {just for the flea markets}

Opening my suitcase after coming home from France was like traveling back on my journey.

As I pushed dirty clothes to the side I uncovered vintage silver, oil paintings, old French letters.

My trip brought me overflowing treasures.

A trip to France is not a regular extravagance for me.

A trip to France is a treasure in itself.

My dear friend ,Tracey Leber of French Larkspur, makes regular trips to France and now Belgium to fill her suitcases just for her shop.

If you can’t make it to France you can enjoy the treasures that spill out of her suitcases.

She just returned from a recent trip and here is a peek at the treasures she picked up.

Tracey’s photos alone are a treat to look at.

Tracey is a well known stylist who has been in countless publications.

Her home is true reflection of her love for vintage and how to use it everyday.

I hope you find a bit of France and Belgium to bring home and use in your day to day.

{I bought the French cider set and I can’t stop using them}

***************************

For the month of June I will be starting a new series called “Reflections of Paris”.

I have never shared all of my photos from my trip to Paris (two summers ago) and I am looking forward to sharing.

I am heading back with Kelly this September to celebrate turning 40 in May.

I better get these photos out before my next trip:-)

See you on Monday with “Reflections of Paris”.
