Documented Life Project FREE Video 2016 |All About the Gold!

I am so honored to be back as a featured artist with the Documented Life Project 2016.

I would like to give a little full discloser that I obviously don’t read instructions and I totally missed my assignment. For real!

It is midnight here and I am seeing for the first time that it was suppose to be simple and small. This is awkward.

My husband does all of my video edits, uploading etc. so you can imagine his eye rolling just now when he heard how short this was suppose to be and how easy his job should have been!

I hope you will just forget for a moment what I was supposed to do!

Do I get any points for getting one last project in for the year and actually getting it accomplished before the holidays?

I love you all and thank you for all the amazing women over at Art to the 5th for inspiring and encouraging so many!

Here is to 2017 and adding a little more gold to all of the beauty that we all create!

Let’s now pretend I can follow instructions…

Modern Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour

We truly wait until after Thanksgiving to pull out our decorations for Christmas (and we are still pulling them out).

We will be adding to our home over the next week but today is a great start!

We are all so excited to celebrate the birth of Christ, to get ready for a new year, to intentionally choose how to spend the season and to gather for our favorite traditions.

This is our first Christmas in our new home and we love seeing our Christmas decorations in this new space.

I believe it takes years to pull your home together and we are only 9 months in. We are having the best time making this house our home and can’t wait to see how it evolves.

I am honored to once again to be a part of Jen Rizzo’s Holiday Housewalk.

This year Wayfair is sponsoring the housewalk and we are excited to have them joining us!

This whole week is such a gorgeous gathering of so many incredible bloggers as they share their homes dressed up for the holidays.

Welcome to the first day and if you are coming over from Fox Hollow Cottage I am so glad you are here.

I love to decorate simply for the holidays, shop the house, use what we have and only add a few new elements.

I have also learned over the years that perfect is never as important as the people coming through your doors and those that live under your roof.

My heart is that our home is comfortable and cozy.  I also want to be surrounded by things we enjoy and use.

Welcome to our home.

(This is our acts of service tree that we bring out and use each Christmas)

The Library and Music Room

This is the space where we listen to music but also where the children practice and play the piano.

The light in here is amazing and one of the many reason we fell in love with this home.

If you look over that railing you will down into the kid’s study area and that photo is coming up.

Our School Study Nook

This area is over the railing behind our library and we have converted it into a study area for the kids to use their laptops, do homework etc.

Our Living Room

We went to the tree farm the day after Thanksgiving and picked our three trees (our art studio art tour will be coming later this week).

We got as far as the lights and the kids said they loved it just like that. We are giving it a few days to see if they change their minds. IF they do we will be sure to share here on the blog.

I kind of agree with them.

Our Kitchen

I am just realizing that I never took wide angle images of our kitchen. You can see more image HERE and  HERE and HERE.

Our Family Room

You can see more photos of our Master Bedroom dressed up for Christmas HERE.

Thank you so much for taking a peek at our home.

Come back later this week when we share our studio dressed up for Christmas!

You have more homes to see and the next stop is Beneath My Heart!

I am excited to make the new house our home and to share it with you along the way!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

My family wishes you a Merry Christmas!

Fall Favorites | Jeanne Oliver

I always love seeing what other people are drawn to and what products they are loving.

For the next three days we will be sharing some of our fall favorites and we would love to hear what you are loving too!

1. I have ordered more handmade earrings from Malary Brett than I can count. Each pair is beautifully made and packaged. Gift material for sure but also a sweet gift for yourself.

2. I just received my copy of this self-published book by my dear friend Sheila Atchley and it is such a gorgeous way to honor advent as a self study or with family/friends.  Each page is an intimate look into the heart of the women leading up to Advent. It is a reminder that we are all a mess and that the Lord can use us in mighty ways.

3. I am a candle girl and we usually have one burning in this house.  I really love the smell of the black fig and the copper inside the candle adds a nice sparkle when it is lit and not lit.

4. Textures and layers are key in this home for creating warm and inviting spaces.  This blanket is my newest favorite and it goes from the living room to the bedroom and follows us out to the deck on cold nights.

5. If there is one thing I splurge on once a year it is a new pair of boots. I will then continue to wear them year after year.  My newest pair is from Steve Madden Freebird Collection.  Mine are in black and they are great for every day and fun to dress up a bit.

6. I love finding unique pillows to add around the house for comfort, texture and layers.  I have bought numerous mudcloth pillow covers from THIS shop on Etsy.

7. I love hair products like some women love makeup.  This sea salt and lavender spray helps your hair to have those gorgeous beach waves we love.  It may be getting colder but I still gotta have good hair!

8. We started off with the Nepresso Pixie in our house and loved it so much that when we built our studio we bought the Nepresso VertuoLine and we LOVE it!!!  Did I say we love it. We do.

9. I don’t think I have been as impressed with a company in a long time like I have been with Citizenry.  We have bought furniture and also accessorizes from this artisan company.  We had an issue with a furniture piece after about 8 months of owning it and within days we had a new piece along with a very nice (and expensive) gift to apologize for any problem with our order. When was the last time you had that happen?! WOW!  They have a loyal customer with me for sure!

10. These napkins are my new favorites and they are also from Citizenry. They are gorgeous and beautifully made.

11. Music, flowers, candles and cozy pillows and blankets are some of my home staples.   We have a turntable in the studio and in our home and we love finding vintage vinyl along with buying new. Each month I look forward to my new album that comes from Magnolia Record Club.  I am a fan of Drew Holcomb and his wife Ellie and enjoying adding their choices to our collection each month.

What are your favorites?  Come back tomorrow to see more of our favorites!
