Documented Life Project FREE Video 2016 |All About the Gold!

I am so honored to be back as a featured artist with the Documented Life Project 2016.

I would like to give a little full discloser that I obviously don’t read instructions and I totally missed my assignment. For real!

It is midnight here and I am seeing for the first time that it was suppose to be simple and small. This is awkward.

My husband does all of my video edits, uploading etc. so you can imagine his eye rolling just now when he heard how short this was suppose to be and how easy his job should have been!

I hope you will just forget for a moment what I was supposed to do!

Do I get any points for getting one last project in for the year and actually getting it accomplished before the holidays?

I love you all and thank you for all the amazing women over at Art to the 5th for inspiring and encouraging so many!

Here is to 2017 and adding a little more gold to all of the beauty that we all create!

Let’s now pretend I can follow instructions…

You spoke directly to my heart this morning. I won’t go into it but your words were a blessing to me in ways you’ll never know. Just know your handed me a present wrapped in a blanket of blessings. I’m so glad you didn’t “get the message” on the project since I’m enjoying your video so much. I stopped as soon as your intro was done to let you know what it meant to me and will save the rest of the present to unwrap tonight as I ring in a new year. YES! you have extra points from me. LOL!

  2. Oh Jeanne – I think it was a blessing in disguise that you (like me) tend to overthink, overDO, and just plain SKIP THE DIRECTIONS – and do what comes to our hearts…you have shared so much and given us such a lovely project to take with us in the New Year. I, for one, am so grateful and honored to have you join us and give to us from your heart so generously. You are a wonderful artist, woman and mentor. Sending you big happy New Year HUGS! AND LOTS AND LOTS of bonus points for getting that one last BIG project in ! double bonus points to the hubs for all his work on this too 😉 Blessings, Rae

  3. Thank you so much for this beautiful gift to ring in the new year! You are such a great teacher and artist who truly inspires artists to be unique and reveal our own gifts. Happy new year to you and your family.

Thank you for this video….really enjoyed it. Loved learning about how to make rust marks on cloth. So timely as I used the rust cloths you gave me on the Danube retreat…used the cloths yesterday on a collage I made and was so pleased with the outcome….and wanted to make some rust cloths of my own but did not know how, and now I do!!!! Happy New Year to you and your family….may the new year be filled with happiness, peace, and kindness towards others!

love the fabulousness of your composition Jeanne Oliver! and the way that you suggest the balance of elements. The townscape addition was my favorite part…and I like that you mentioned the art of stopping lol that’s important too!! blessings of a happy new year!

    • Thank you! I guess each piece becomes such a fun surprise when you just let it be what it wants to be. Thank you for watching and all of your kind comments.

  7. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon while hubby is watching bowl games!! I’m actually doing this in my paint your town journal :) Happy New Year to you and yours!! I look forward to more creating with you in 2017!

  8. LEDavis commented:

Watching your video was a perfect way to spend this rainy, cold, last day of the year. Thank you!

    • Thank you so much for coming over and watching. I love those rainy days the best. We don’t get many in Colorado but making art is the first thing I would do!

  9. Lori H commented:

My teabags never get that beautiful golden brown color that yours have. May I ask what kind of tea it was?

I found your art through Documented Life 2015, and watched the icon videos over and over. Studying Under the Masters is one of the best gifts I gave myself this year. It is so rich and full of beautiful layers and deep content I’ve watched those videos over and over, too, and still have more of the course to unwrap. I love your warm encouraging teaching style, your beautifully subtle palette, and your personal art style. I’ve learned so much about personal mark-making from you and from Rae. Thank you so much for this flowing generous gift to all the members of The Documented Life 2016. It reminds me that, as sad as I am to see that end, I can and will continue to set myself little art challenges each week, play with things I’m drawn to without worrying too much about outcomes,
and I will continue to reflect and document my life.

I saw in the new year watching this video all the way over in London. Thankyou for sharing your creativity and for your words of inspiration. I am going into 2017 more encouraged and determined to trust my creative instincts and to share beauty however little it seems. Thankyou. Xx

Jeanne, this is truly the best video that I have ever viewed. Your style of demonstration and instruction are so very personal and inclusive; I am taking away so much from this mini class.
Thank you, and may 2017 be a tremendous year for you!

As someone who is just beginning to discover my personal artistic style it was so helpful to watch your video and know that it’s ok to try something, but then later change it if it’s not working. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist and so art is a way for me to practice how NOT to be perfect. I learned a ton here. Thank you!

  18. WOW – this is beautiful. Happy creative 2017 to you xo

  19. Thank you for this amazing video. It was a class in itself and so generous of you to give it to us. It was very inspiring and made a really great start for my New Year! I wish you the best for 2017 and beyond!

  20. This was so illuminating! I ABSOLUTELY love the whole process…I am looking forward to working with you on a project and will see you in NC at Donna Downey workshop in February!!!

  21. Dear Jeanne! Wow! Thank you soooooooooo much for this inspirational video. I’m so glad to have spent time today watching it. I’ve been sick over the holidays and have been feeling blue and quite unmotivated to go into my studio. Well, thanks to you, I am now fired up! I consider myself blessed for this lovely gift of your time and talent….. it’s just what I needed to get me in the right mind-space and heart-space for my creative life in 2017! Blessings and much gratitude to you. Happy 2017!

    • I am so sorry you have been sick over the holidays! That is always so hard. Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to watch the video.

  22. Carol WEILER commented:

A beautiful video! Thankyou for sharing with us. So glad you didn’t follow instructions. I rarely do. I will definitely be trying these techniques in this new year. I love your website and blog and have learned so much from the classes I have taken. Your generosity with your free offering is so appreciated. I feel both my faith and artistic style have grown for these opportunities. I hope this New Year is full of blessings for you and your family!

  23. Arliss commented:

This was so fun to watch!! I can not wait to try some of the techniques. What a generous artist and soul you are. Thank you for sharing.

  24. Loretta Mutti-Crichton commented:

This was wonderful. Thank you for this generous gift.

  25. Dear Jeanne,
This free video was the best journalling video I’ve seen in ages. Reminded me of all the techniques I have forgotten about. Loved the rust dyeing & have become a bit obsessed with it. I got out my journal & started a spread straight away, I was so inspired. Realised too, that I can do the messy parts during the day & then enter an almost meditative state in the evenings, doodling & stitching. I am excited to be doing your upcoming course “Wild Awakening”. Thank you very much.

  26. Cheryl Pressner commented:

Jeanne. No words. You always speak to my heart. I so appreciate you.
